Does the LEGEND 2 have multi-frequency – and when is single-frequency worthwhile?
Yes. You can use multi-frequency (multiple frequencies simultaneously) or switch to single-frequency (4, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz). Multi is the all-round mode for many situations, while single can offer advantages depending on the target and environment (e.g., quieter in case of interference or more targeted for specific types of objects).
How do I make the detector quieter when it's "disturbing" or running erratically?
Start by using Frequency Shift / Noise Cancellation to reduce interference. If the device continues to behave erratically, slightly lower the Sensitivity or, in difficult ground conditions, use Ground Balance (automatic or manual). This will make the detector more stable without unnecessarily losing performance. If the device continues to operate erratically, you can switch from multi-frequency operation to single-frequency operation to make the Legend 2 significantly quieter.
What search modes does the LEGEND 2 have?
The LEGEND 2 offers five search modes:
Park (for modern sites with lots of metallic trash),
Field (for arable land and meadows),
Beach (for dry and wet sand as well as saltwater),
Relic (for historically contaminated soils and deep objects), and
Gold (for searching for very small, weakly conductive metal objects such as gold nuggets and small Roman coins).
