The Ace 400i is the top model in the Ace series. The Garrett Ace offers excellent value for money. For example, this digital Garrett Ace 400i metal detector has a search frequency of 10 kHz and five search modes for jewelry, coins, relics, or all metals. You also have the option to create your own user mode. The display shows target identification (metal type recognition) and depth range in cm. Unwanted iron objects such as nails and bottle caps can be easily excluded from your search process. The Ace 400i features an extra strong Camlock stem attachment for stable and comfortable search movements.
Higher Search Frequency
With its 10 KHZ, the Ace 400i has a higher search frequency than previous Ace models (6.5 kHz - Ace 150, Ace 250, Euro Ace, Ace 200i). The advantage of this higher 10 kHz search frequency is improved sensitivity to objects of low and medium conductivity, such as gold, lead, etc.
DD Search Coil for Good Depth Range
The 400i is equipped with the Proformance DD search coil 21.5 x 28 cm (8.5" x 11") for additional depth performance and precise pinpointing. This search coil reduces the negative effects of mineralized soils. You will be able to achieve a good depth range. Up to 35 cm for coin-sized objects, and up to a maximum of 125 cm for large objects.
Numerical Target Identification (1-99)
The Ace 400i metal detector features both segment identification and numerical target identification (1-99). As soon as the metal detector detects an object, a sound is heard, and a number appears in the center of the display. This "conductivity value" allows conclusions to be drawn about the type of metal. (For example, number 76 Euro coin, number 20 iron). This way, you can learn the conductivity values to identify metal objects before digging. To make it even easier, a block simultaneously appears under the segment bar at the top of the display. This tells you the type of metal, or what the object might be (e.g., iron). In addition, the Ace 400i has 3 different audio tones. A low tone for iron, a medium tone for gold and other items, and a high tone for silver.
Sensitivity and Discrimination
You can adjust the sensitivity yourself, which allows you to achieve higher depth performance. Discrimination is also adjustable. With the very precise discrimination of the Ace 300i, you can easily exclude unwanted objects, especially iron items.
Iron Audio
The Iron Audio function allows the user to adjust the volume for iron, making the iron signal more audible or allowing it to be completely turned off so that you hear no sound when iron is detected. This function contributes to better detection of iron objects. The advantage of Iron Audio over the discrimination function is that you maintain the depth range. If you use the discrimination function, it always negatively affects your depth range.
Pinpoint Function
The Garrett Ace 400i has a Pinpoint function as an extra. This is a function for precise location of objects. This allows you to find the position of the object more accurately, so you have less work digging it out.
Notch
The Notch function offers you the possibility to discriminate very precisely. This allows you to manually discriminate entire conductivity value ranges, i.e., exclude them from the search.
Frequency Switch
To prevent interference from other metal detectors and electronics, the Ace 300i is equipped with a frequency switch. If your detector is interfered with by other detectors, you can change the frequency channel.
Waterproof Search Coil
The Ace 400i has a waterproof search coil, but the display is not waterproof. So you can use the detector in shallow water as long as the display does not get wet. Also, in a rain shower, you should protect the display with electronic protection.
