The cleaning pens from a Gratter are very popular cleaning tools for beginners. The wide range of tools makes cleaning most coins and artifacts easier and faster. The brass brush removes the top layer of dirt. Apply gently to avoid scratches. We recommend changing the tip as soon as you get close to the surface of the coin or artifact.

The steel wool allows for precise cleaning – even between letters and on rough surfaces. Unlike other pens, our refill lasts significantly longer, thanks to our special strengthening process during manufacturing.
Fiberglass tip
The fiberglass tip cleans your bronze artifacts without damaging the patina. It is also very effective on other types of metal, as it is the softest tip among the precision pens.
Carbon tip
This hard carbon tip is designed to remove dirt that fiberglass cannot dislodge. It is effective on all types of metal, but should be used with caution on bronze to avoid damaging the patina.
Scalpel
The scalpel is used to remove stubborn dirt crusts or layers. It is most effective when working with a pulling motion rather than a scratching motion. As it is the hardest tool in the set, it should be used with extreme caution.
